Self-piercing riveting (SPR) is a cold joining process that fastens two or more layers of materials-often dissimilar-by driving a specially designed rivet through them without pre-drilling. The rivet pierces the top layers and mechanically locks into the bottom layer, creating a strong, fatigue-resistant joint.
