Flat Flange Open End Half-Hex Blind Rivet Nut
The main function of rivet nut:
Multi-layer plate connection:
The connection of multiple plates using rivet nuts is similar to traditional riveting methods. Rivet nuts join different sheets or components together via riveting tools, creating a secure and stable mechanical connection.
Threaded connection between materials:
Rivet nuts provide internal threads between materials on both sides. After installation, a point-to-point connection is formed vertically through the plates, allowing threaded fastening with other components of the final assembly.
Removability advantage:
Unlike standard rivets, rivet nuts allow for the removal and replacement of fastened components in the vertical direction. Traditional rivets form a permanent connection without vertical thread accessibility or disassembly options.

APPLICATION
Rivet nuts, also known as insert nuts or blind rivet nuts, were developed to overcome the limitations of welding nuts on thin metal sheets and tubes. Traditional welding can lead to deformation, poor thread quality, and low efficiency. Rivet nuts offer a strong, efficient, and easy-to-use alternative, especially when access to the backside of the substrate is limited and welding or clinching is not feasible.
They are ideal for applications involving various thicknesses of sheet metal and tubing (0.5mm to 6mm). Installation is quick and reliable using pneumatic or manual rivet nut guns, enabling one-step fastening and eliminating the need for tapping or welding.
Rivet nuts are primarily made from low-carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, and copper. They are available in a variety of styles including flat head, thin head, reduced head, hexagonal, half-hexagonal, countersunk head (CSK), and closed-end types.
These fasteners are typically used for non-structural load-bearing connections, such as in the interiors of rail cars, buses, boats, and other transportation vehicles. Advanced anti-rotation rivet nuts are even used in the aerospace industry where lightweight and secure fastening is essential. Since they do not require access to the back side of the material, they are especially suitable for blind installations.
Rivet nuts are widely used across manufacturing sectors including automotive, aerospace, railway, refrigeration, elevators, switches, instruments, furniture, and decorative applications, particularly in the assembly of electromechanical and light industrial products.
